This program was developed in accordance with the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 Control of Hazardous Energy. This course is for workers who are "Authorized" to lockout or tagout machines or equipment in order to perform servicing or maintenance. Topics will include but are not limited to: recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, details about the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. Additional topics can include recognition of energy control procedures being used, understanding the purpose of the procedures, and understanding the critical importance of not attempting to start up or use equipment that has been locked out or tagged out.

In order to successfully complete this training, the student must be able to demonstrate proficiency and will be required to pass an exam.
